More than 2,600 former fighters have successfully completed the Disarmament, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration (DRR) program under Operation Safe Corridor, a federal initiative launched in 2016 to address the insurgency in northeastern Nigeria.

The program, which provides counseling, vocational training in skills such as carpentry and tailoring, and community sensitization, aims to reintegrate former insurgents into society while consolidating military gains against Boko Haram.
The graduation ceremony was attended by military officials, including Brig. Gen. Y. Ali and representatives of Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, who hailed the milestone as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to peace and security.
“The graduation of these individuals reflects our dedication to rehabilitating those who have turned away from violence, providing them with productive skills and opportunities to reintegrate into society,” Brig. Gen. Ali said.
