The Nigerian international provided two assists in a dominant display, helping the Turkish champions secure a strong advantage ahead of the return leg in Turin.
While his performances have thrilled Galatasaray fans, his public admiration for Juventus has shifted attention toward his long-term future.
From Napoli Glory to Istanbul Revival
Osimhen rose to prominence at Napoli, where he played a central role in their 2022–23 Serie A title triumph. Scoring 26 league goals, he clinched the Capocannoniere award as the division’s top scorer and cemented his place among Europe’s elite strikers.
However, tensions later surfaced between Osimhen and Napoli’s hierarchy, leading to his departure. A proposed move to Juventus during the 2024 transfer window was reportedly blocked by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who was unwilling to sell to a domestic rival.

Osimhen revealed that Juventus’s sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, had personally contacted him regarding a transfer.
“When Juve calls, regardless of everything, you have to sit and listen,” he said.
After the move collapsed, Osimhen joined Galatasaray, initially on loan before completing a permanent switch. Since arriving in Turkey, he has rediscovered his top form, scoring consistently and becoming a fan favorite in Istanbul.
