The six fight-card event staged by Core Afrique Boxing Promotion at Argon Sports Center in Sijibumi, Elepe, Ikorodu, on Saturday converged stakeholders across the sports in a colourful atmosphere.

Hostilities got on the way on the night with a Super Banterweight 55.3kg contest between Emanuel Friday and Hammed Qudus. The six rounds brawl saw Friday prevailed via unanimous decision.

In the National Lightweight 61.2kg showdown, Qudus Adebayo showed grit and techniques as he triumphed over Lucky James as the judges scored unanimously. Quadri Ilori defeated Ayomide Kasali in their 63.5kg National Super Lightweight encounter, while in the National Welterweight, Taiwo Tomiwa recorded a 36 secs 1st round knockout (KO) against Ayobami Okpeyemi in the 66.7kg contest.

Peter Ejieke sent Olanrewaju Saheed to the floor as he secured a 2:51 secs knockout (KO) in the 76.2kg National Super Middle Weight showdown

It was a close contest in the National Middle Weight 72.1kg brawl between Adeniji Bolajoko and Kazeem Lawal as the latter clinched the contest in separate decisions.

The fights records were updated on (BoxRec) few hours after the highly entertaining event.

Boxing promoter and CEO Core Afrique Boxing Promotions Olusola Ayodele expressed his excitement with the standard of organization and the level of professionalism across the board.

“Firstly I must appreciate the Nigeria Boxing Federation for its ongoing reforms in the squared ropes sports, I make bold to say that the era of fake professional fight records is over, it’s truly a new dawn for pro boxing in Nigeria and i am calling on all stakeholders to embrace this positive trajectory”. Ayodele added.

As part of its ongoing reforms, the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has initiated a pro boxing arm to oversee professional boxing activities in the country.
