The reshuffle occurs as Nigeria faces challenges like rising inflation, currency fluctuations, and the social effects of extensive fiscal reforms implemented by Tinubu’s administration.

An official memo from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, signed by George Akume, confirmed this decision.

The announcement also revealed that Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has been removed from his role as Minister of Housing and Urban Development, highlighting the extent of the cabinet changes.

While Edun is no longer part of the cabinet, his successor, Oyedele, is well-acquainted with the finance sector. He has previously held positions such as Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee and, more recently, served as Minister of State for Finance.

This cabinet reshuffle is anticipated to significantly influence Nigeria’s economic trajectory, as the Tinubu administration ramps up efforts to stabilize the economy and tackle rising public concerns about the cost of living.
