Adeboye also responded to activist Omoyele Sowore’s comments labeling him and other religious leaders as “fathers of Christians in Nigeria.” He distanced himself from that title, stating that he serves merely as a spiritual guide within his own church.
He reiterated that the leadership of Christians in the nation is under the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), whose president represents Christians nationwide.
