Participants will work alongside professionals contributing to UNAIDS’ mission, which unites 11 UN organisations in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 20 years old at the time of application.
  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate programme at a recognised educational institution, or have graduated within the past year (recent graduates must begin the internship within 12 months of graduation).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in at least one UN official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian).
  • Possess strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

UNAIDS particularly encourages applications from people living with HIV, women, and nationals of non- and under-represented member states. The programme promotes gender parity and broad geographic and socioeconomic diversity.

Candidates with immediate family members employed at the UNAIDS Secretariat are not eligible, and previous UNAIDS interns may not reapply.
