Minister David Umahi, has emphasized that Ebonyi State is expected to provide 95% of its votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election, in collaboration with Governor Francis Nwifuru to rally significant backing for the President.
Umahi made these remarks during an inspection of the Abaomoge/Akpoha/Afikpo road project in Ebonyi State. He pointed out that no other president has achieved the level of infrastructure development currently taking place in the South-East and appealed to regional leaders to support Tinubu’s re-election efforts.

He indicated that Ebonyi would pursue an aggressive campaign to show appreciation for the ongoing projects initiated by the President.
He stated: “I take this opportunity to urge our leaders to come forward and share their views. We once raised concerns about marginalization, but we are no longer facing that under this President.”
Furthermore, he remarked: “Let me assure you, no other ministry in this administration is as significant as the Ministry of Works, which is led by an Igbo man. This reflects a level of trust… projects of this scale might not have been possible without this leadership.”

Regarding political involvement, he said: “I believe the President is strategically including Southeast individuals in the core of Nigerian politics, and we must act wisely.”
On Tinubu’s accomplishments, he noted: “I haven’t even begun to highlight the positive things the President is doing for the Southeast. I am open to discussions; let anyone challenge me on who else could achieve this if not for the President.”

Regarding electoral backing, he declared:“ In Ebonyi, together with Governor Nwifuru, we will ensure that 95% of our votes go to Tinubu; there’s no reason to support anyone else… the last election was simply a historical anomaly that won’t happen again.”
He wrapped up by urging for mobilization in preparation for the upcoming election.
