Security officials noted that pressure from the operatives led to a confrontation with the kidnappers, culminating in the safe rescue of the victims without any injuries. A manhunt has been initiated for the remaining members of the gang who fled, with reports indicating that some may have sustained gunshot wounds.
The kidnapping occurred on June 3, when armed individuals intercepted Mrs. John-Paul and her twins as she was driving them to school in Ibadan. Witnesses described the attack as well-planned and reported seeing the assailants take the victims away. A red Toyota Camry was later discovered abandoned at the scene, its doors left open.
