Former Nigeria U20 manager Aliyu Zubair has been appointed as the new head coach of Sudanese league giants Al Ahli Madani on a two-year contract. He takes over from Farouk Jabra and becomes the latest Nigerian coach to take charge on the African continent.

Zubair’s appointment comes hours after he confirmed his mutual departure from Egyptian second-tier side Telecom SC, where he enjoyed a successful spell and helped the club make notable progress in domestic competitions. The tactician leaves Egypt with his reputation further enhanced.
Speaking after sealing his move to Sudan, the highly rated Nigerian coach described the opportunity as another major step in his career.
“Al Ahli Madani is another huge challenge for me. It is a great club with rich history and high ambitions. I am looking forward to working with the players, the management and the fans to achieve our objectives, especially as the team prepare to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup,” Zubair said.
