Initiated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, the system officially automated the planning permit process starting April 1, 2026.
The Lagos State Government stated that this initiative aims to streamline and modernize planning permit administration throughout the state by utilizing digital technology to enhance service delivery.

The government is encouraging developers, property owners, and other stakeholders to leverage the Electronic Planning Permit Processing System for faster and more convenient processing of their planning approvals from anywhere in the world.
