Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu has announced that the Nigeria Police Force has greatly diminished incidents of misconduct and impunity among its officers, highlighting a significant drop in public complaints during his tenure.
During a public event, the IGP noted that the number of grievances against police personnel has decreased since he took office. “If you are honest with yourself, you will see that complaints against officers have greatly diminished,” he remarked.

The police chief emphasized the strides made under his leadership to combat misconduct within the force. “We have managed to minimize impunity among our officers significantly,” Disu stated.
He encouraged Nigerians to speak out whenever they encounter inappropriate behavior by police officers, assuring that all legitimate complaints would be thoroughly investigated. “The key is to report any incidents to us, and we will take action,” he concluded.
