Alimosho Coaches Equipped For The Future After Successful Training Seminar

The Alimosho Train The Trainers Coaching Seminar was a resounding success and a great experience for all participants. It created a deliberate platform for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and professional growth at the grassroots level.

Coaches had the opportunity to interact, ask questions, and learn from instructors with vast experience.
The energy in the room showed that grassroots coaches are hungry for development and ready to raise standards.

The instructors at the seminar drew directly from the lessons and curriculum of the recently concluded GSL/LSFA coaching clinic. This ensured that the latest coaching trends, methodologies, and best practices were cascaded down to local coaches. It also created continuity between state-level training and community-level implementation. By doing this, Alimosho FA is making sure no knowledge is lost between the top and the grassroots.

The turnout was impressive and encouraging for the organizers. Over 30 coaches gathered at Egan Grammar School on Saturday, 1st August to learn new rudiments of the game. They came to upgrade their skills, network with colleagues, and prepare themselves to better impact their players. The attendance shows the commitment of Alimosho coaches to self-development.

One of the key sessions was handled by Dr. Asak Johnson Diana Ajaine. She spoke extensively on the Psychology of Coaching, highlighting the mental side of player management and team motivation. Dr. Ajaine explained how coaches can build confidence, handle pressure, and communicate effectively with players. She is an FCAAN Instructor and holds a CAF B License, bringing both academic and practical depth to the session.

Dr. Samuel Johnson also delivered a powerful and insightful lecture. He emphasized Player Development in Football and the importance of building players from the foundation up. According to him, technical, tactical, and character development must start early and be consistent. Dr. Johnson is a certified CAF Instructor with years of experience working at elite levels across the country.

The seminar also featured Coach Victor Akinmoyo, former Team Manager of COD United. As the founder of Island City Sports Limited, he gave a practical lecture on Football Administration and Finance. He noted that this is a critical area often neglected at grassroots level, yet it determines the survival of clubs. Participants learned about budgeting, sponsorship, club structure, and how to run football like a professional organization.

Coach Adeleke Ibiyemi brought energy and practicality to the seminar. He took the Possession Game Factor session, where coaches were taught drills and patterns to improve ball retention.
The session focused on decision-making, movement off the ball, and how to design small-sided games. Participants were actively involved and left with drills they could use immediately in training.

Coach Uchenna Eke complemented the practical work with a lecture on Discipline in Football Coaching.
He stressed the role of discipline in building winning teams and shaping the character of young players. He explained that discipline covers punctuality, respect, work rate, and professional conduct both on and off the pitch. Coaches agreed that instilling discipline early is key to producing responsible players and successful teams.

Overall, the Alimosho Train The Trainers seminar achieved its stated goal. Coaches left better equipped, more informed, and motivated to impact their players and communities. The program was a strong step toward raising the standard of coaching in Alimosho and Lagos State at large.
