The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is now accepting applications for the 2027 Fund Internship Programme (FIP) – Economists, a paid internship opportunity open to PhD students in economics and related fields.
This is a 10 to 12-week internship running from June 7 to August 27, 2027, based at IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. Selected interns will work directly with experienced IMF economists on individual research and project assignments addressing real-world macroeconomic and policy challenges affecting the IMF’s 191 member countries. Some interns present findings to IMF staff and have their work published internally.
