Nollywood actress Irewole Olaniyan has responded to allegations that she was involved in a three-year affair with a married man after the man’s wife publicly called her out on social media.
The controversy began after a woman identified as Mary Edris shared a lengthy post accusing the actress of having a relationship with her husband for about three years.

Mary claimed she had previously contacted Irewole privately about the alleged relationship and that the actress initially told her she was unaware the man was married.

According to the woman, Irewole also allegedly said the man was not her type and claimed she had blocked him.

However, Mary alleged that the relationship continued despite the confrontation.
She further claimed that her husband had financially supported some of Irewole’s movie productions, trips and lifestyle, alleging that the pair travelled together to South Africa in September 2024.
Mary also accused the actress of continuing to contact her husband through different phone numbers after he allegedly ended the relationship and claimed that Irewole repeatedly asked him for money. The allegations were contained in a social media post which has since been deleted.
The actress has now given her own account of the situation.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Saturday, October 3, Irewole acknowledged that she had dated the man but disputed the timeline and circumstances presented by Mary.
According to the actress, she ended the relationship immediately after discovering that the man was married. She also rejected the suggestion that she knowingly maintained a relationship with a married man for three years.
