This is a field-level compliance role responsible for monitoring branch adherence to regulatory requirements, KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions compliance and internal control standards across multiple branch locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor assigned branches for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures and internal control standards
  • Conduct periodic branch compliance reviews and follow up on identified exceptions until closure
  • Monitor compliance with KYC, CDD, AML/CFT and sanctions requirements
  • Review account-opening and customer documentation
  • Monitor customer identification, transaction processing and record-keeping requirements
  • Identify, document and escalate compliance breaches, exceptions and emerging risks
  • Provide compliance guidance to branch staff
  • Track remediation of findings from compliance reviews, audits and regulatory examinations
  • Support implementation of new and revised regulatory requirements
  • Conduct compliance sensitization and awareness sessions
  • Maintain accurate compliance review and remediation records
  • Prepare periodic compliance reports for management
  • Escalate unusual or potentially suspicious activities through appropriate channels

Requirements:

  • First degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Finance or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in Compliance, Banking Operations, Internal Control, Audit, Risk Management or a related function
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA or ACIB (mandatory)
  • Good knowledge of banking operations, AML/CFT, KYC, CDD and sanctions compliance
  • Understanding of compliance risk and internal control principles
  • Strong attention to detail, report-writing, analytical and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Knowledge ofCBN regulations and Nigerian banking compliance requirements is an added advantage
