BREAKING: Gas Truck explosion rocks Orimedu, Fire outbreak at Yapoewo bus stop

A massive explosion occurred early Friday morning in the Orimedu area of Ibeju-Lekki, as a gas-laden truck exploded, triggering a fire outbreak near Yapoewo Bus Stop.

Eyewitnesses report that the explosion was accompanied by multiple shockwaves and intense flames, with thick black smoke billowing into the air, visible from several kilometres away.

The gas truck, which was reportedly on its way out of the Orimedu axis, detonated suddenly, causing panic and chaos in the surrounding neighbourhood.

Emergency Response Underway

Firefighters from the Lagos Free Zone Fire and Rescue Service have been deployed to the scene, working alongside LASEMA, NSCDC, and the Nigerian Police to contain the blaze and secure the area.
