NWFL: Gov. Diri rewards Bayelsa Queens’ players with ₦4 million each

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri has rewarded the 26 Bayelsa Queens Football Team players with the sum of four million naira each for winning the 2024/2025 Nigerian Women Professional Football League.

At the 167th Exco meeting attended by Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the Governor also rewarded other players who were registered with the team but did not play with a sum of one million naira each.

Four million naira also went to the head coach, chairman of the board received three million naira while assistant coaches took home two million naira each, back room staff got one point five million naira each, as board members got one million naira each and supporters club received three million naira.

Governor Diri who also instructed an upward review of salary of the state-owned male and female football teams received the giant gold trophy from the team.
