Southern Kaduna Leadership to honour Ex-CDS, Gen Musa

Southern Kaduna Leadership Council (SKLC) will honor former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, with a Grand Reception to celebrate his distinguished career as a four-star military general. This event is set for Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Kafanchan Township Stadium, the commercial center of Southern Kaduna.

During the 19th Council Meeting held on October 30 at the Throneroom Trust Ministry in Kafanchan, SKLC Chairman Elder Ishaya Dary Akau (OON) revealed that General Musa will be awarded the highest distinction of Grand Commander of Southern Kaduna for serving as an exemplary ambassador for his region, Kaduna State, and Nigeria.

Additionally, the council appointed Comrade Jerry Adams, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), to lead the finance committee for the Southern Kaduna Cultural Festival (SKFEST), with Hon. Larai Sylvia Ishaku, the Executive Chairman of Jaba Local Government Area, serving as Secretary. Other committee members include Hon. Wilson Iliya Yangye from Universal Insurance, Mr. Kabir Kasim from Nigeria Breweries, Hon. Christopher Haruna, a former chairman of Zango Kataf Local Government Area, and Mr. Danjuma Kai.

The meeting was attended by several government officials, including Kaduna State Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Henry Danjuma Magaji and Hon. Ado Dogo Audu, advisor to the governor for political matters. They informed the council that Governor Uba Sani has received federal approval for a special intervention aimed at reconstructing the Jere-Kagarko Jaba Kwoi-Kafanchan road. Other attending officials, like local government chairmen and the Commissioner for Sports, Prof. Ben Gugong, discussed developmental issues in the area and emphasized the need to encourage eligible voters to register for the ongoing Voter’s Card exercise conducted by INEC.

Finally, SKLC congratulated and offered prayers for its member, His Highness Mr. Bature Sunday Likoro, on his new role as the Agwom Ikulu (Kamuru) III, the paramount ruler of the Ikulu Chiefdom in Zango Kataf Local Government Area.
