Another 100,000 dollars? Tinubu hails Tobi Amusan for World Championships Silver Medal

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s track queen, Tobi Amusan, following her podium finish at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Amusan, the reigning world record holder in the 100m hurdles, claimed silver after finishing second behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji in a thrilling final.

“A source of national pride”

In a statement released on Wednesday, President Tinubu lauded Amusan for her perseverance, resilience, and dedication to flying Nigeria’s flag high on the global stage.

“Tobi has once again proven that with hard work and unyielding drive, no height is insurmountable. Her success is a source of national pride,” the President said.

Tinubu added that Amusan’s consistency at the top level of athletics remains an inspiration to millions of Nigerians, especially the younger generation aspiring to excel in sports.
