The screening process encompasses both administrative and medical evaluations to confirm travel credentials, inform pilgrims about what to expect during the journey, and provide the medical team with essential medications for the pilgrims’ health needs.
Okudero stressed the necessity for pilgrims to be both medically and physically fit for the trip, urging them to observe the regulations and laws of the host countries while representing Lagos State and Nigeria honorably.
Reverend Bukola Adeleke, Special Advisor to the Governor on Christian Religious Matters, thanked the pilgrims for their confidence in the Lagos State Government and its pilgrimage services, highlighting the importance of prayer and spiritual support for Nigeria’s leadership during these trying times.
Additionally, Bishop (Prof) Stephen Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to ensuring a safe and successful pilgrimage, implementing measures to prevent absconding and to ensure the safety of Nigerian pilgrims in Israel and Jordan. He also expressed appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support for pilgrimage initiatives in Nigeria and encouraged pilgrims to pray for the nation while in the Holy Land.
