After a tense first half with limited chances for both sides, Simon broke the deadlock shortly after the restart. Maxime Lopez, captain of Paris FC, danced past a challenge from Monaco substitute Stanley Idumbo before finding Simon near the edge of the box.

The Super Eagles forward’s low shot took a slight deflection and looped awkwardly over goalkeeper Philipp Kohn, nestling into the back of the net to spark celebrations from the visiting bench.

The goal, Simon’s third of the season, proved decisive as Paris FC defended resolutely to secure their second league win of the campaign.

Despite a late surge from the hosts, including a fine save by Kevin Trapp to deny Maghnes Akliouche, Monaco were unable to find an equalizer.

The defeat marked their first home loss in nearly a year and their first under new management.
