The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)has celebrated a remarkable love story in Kogi State, honouring two Corps Members who tied the knot during their service year with a ₦500,000 cash gift.
The gesture, according to the NYSC, is aimed at fostering national unity and encouraging cross-cultural marriages among young Nigerians.

Promoting Unity Through Love
During the presentation ceremony held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the NYSC Kogi State Secretariat, the State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, commended the couple, noting that their union represents one of the key objectives of the NYSC scheme, the promotion of national unity and integration.
He said, “The union of these Corps Members is a beautiful testament to what the NYSC stands for, love, peace, and unity across ethnic and cultural lines.”
Osungbohun congratulated the newlyweds and encouraged them to exemplify godliness, patience, and understanding as they begin their marital journey.

Presenting the N500,000 cash gift on behalf of the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General OO Nafiu, the Chairman of the NYSC Kogi State Governing Board and Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Aridaojo Anyebe Monday, represented by Mrs. Babatunde Josephine urged the couple to continue living in love and harmony.
“Your marriage is a reflection of unity in diversity and a reminder that love knows no tribe or religion. We encourage other Corps Members to build meaningful relationships that promote peace and togetherness,” she stated.
