Ogun governor honors Kayode Egbetokun, outlines priorities for new IGP, Tunji Disu

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has extended his congratulations to the outgoing Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, for his exemplary service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation, following President Bola Tinubu’s acceptance of his resignation.

The governor also congratulated Mr. Tunji Disu, the newly appointed Acting Inspector-General of Police, expressing his belief in Disu’s capacity to deliver focused and effective leadership during a critical period in the country’s security situation.

In a statement he personally signed, Abiodun praised Egbetokun as a distinguished son of Ogun State, whose years of dedication, professionalism, and commitment to enhancing internal security have brought pride to both the people of Ogun and Nigerians at large.

Abiodun emphasized that rebuilding public trust in the Force, advancing professionalism, utilizing technology for crime detection, and reinforcing internal discipline should be key elements of the new IGP’s leadership agenda.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government in bolstering national security, strengthening institutions, and ensuring the Nigeria Police Force remains professional, accountable, and effective in fulfilling its constitutional duties.
