Ogun State is set to open its newly renovated 250-bed Medical Center of Excellence in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, this December.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made this announcement during a facility inspection, noting that the hospital was initiated but left unfinished by the previous government. It will function as a “spoke” of the Abuja Medical Center of Excellence, which is managed by Healthshare Services Limited and receives international backing from King’s College Hospital.

The governor highlighted that, once operational, the facility will greatly reduce medical tourism and minimize the transfer of critical patients to Lagos or other states. Its location in Abeokuta will provide easy access for patients from Ogun and surrounding areas like Oyo, Osun, and Ekiti.
Dr. Frank Etang, the project manager from Healthshare Integrated Solutions, assured that the facility will be ready by the December deadline. He confirmed that the basement, ground floor, radiology, lab, consulting rooms, and most of the first floor, which includes the theatre, ICU, and wards, are nearing completion. This commissioning is anticipated to be a key year-end achievement for the Ogun State administration.
