The unidentified woman’s body was discovered on Wednesday at a hotel located on the Ore-Okitipupa Road.

According to a hotel employee, the pair had booked the room together earlier that day.

The staff member, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, explained that the discovery was made during a routine check.

“They came in together, but when one of our staff went to the room, the woman was already lying lifeless on the bed, and the man was gone,” the source said.

“The staff immediately alerted others, and the case was reported to the police.”

The employee also noted that there were no visible signs of violence or injury in the room.

On Thursday, State Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the incident and stated that detectives are actively searching for the suspect.

“Yes, the incident was reported, and an investigation has begun. We are working to identify and apprehend the man who fled,” Ayanlade said.

The woman’s body has since been moved to a local morgue as the police investigation continues.
