Queens Cup 2025 Fixtures: Exciting Matchups as Women’s Football Tournament Kicks Off in Ibadan

The fixtures for the maiden edition of the Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tournament have been released, with eight women’s football clubs set to clash in what promises to be an exciting week of action at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, starting Monday, November 3, 2025.

The Queens Cup, powered by Assamokee International in partnership with the Oyo State Government and fully endorsed by the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), aims to promote women’s football development and foster competitiveness ahead of the new NWFL season.

Group Draws and Teams

The eight participating clubs have been drawn into two competitive groups, each brimming with talent and ambition.

Group A:

  • FC Robo Queens
  • Remo Stars Ladies
  • Wazbak Queens
  • Phoenix Queens

  • Dannaz Ladies
  • Pacesetter Queens
  • Nakamura FA
  • DreamStar Ladies

The grouping has set the stage for several mouthwatering clashes, including the heavyweight face-off between Remo Stars Ladies and FC Robo Queens, two of the country’s most consistent sides in women’s football.

Opening Day Fixtures – Monday, November 3, 2025

The Queens Cup will officially kick off with four thrilling encounters on opening day, promising end-to-end excitement for fans of the women’s game.

8:00 AM – Wazbak Queens vs Phoenix Queens

The opening match of the tournament will see Wazbak Queens square off against Phoenix Queens in a crucial Group A showdown. Both sides will be eager to grab early points and set the pace for the competition.

10:00 AM – Dannaz Ladies vs Nakamura FA

Group B action begins with Dannaz Ladies taking on Nakamura FA. With both teams boasting young, energetic squads, the tie is expected to produce a fierce contest.

2:00 PM – Pacesetter Queens vs DreamStar Ladies

Hosts Pacesetter Queens will lock horns with DreamStar Ladies in the day’s third fixture. Backed by home fans, the Ibadan-based side will be determined to make a strong impression in their opening game.

4:00 PM – Remo Stars Ladies vs FC Robo Queens

The day concludes with the most anticipated matchup — a blockbuster clash between Remo Stars Ladies and FC Robo Queens. Both teams are renowned for their attacking style and will look to send a strong message to their rivals early in the competition.

 

The Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tournament serves as a key platform for clubs to test their readiness ahead of the new season, while also offering exposure to emerging female talents across the region.

According to the organisers, the competition will help bridge the gap between grassroots and professional women’s football in Nigeria, providing players with the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of scouts and fans.

 

Speaking ahead of the kickoff, Saheed Afolabi, Director of Media for the Queens Cup, said the fixtures reflect the tournament’s mission to promote competitiveness and growth in women’s football.

 

“The Queens Cup is about creating visibility and opportunities for women footballers. These fixtures show the balance and intensity we aim to achieve, ensuring every team has a fair and exciting chance to perform. Fans should expect quality football from day one,” Afolabi stated.
