Ramadan: Saudi Arabia confirms moon sighting, Holy Month begins Wednesday

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have officially announced the sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon, marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH.

Following the confirmation by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia, Ramadan will commence on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

The announcement came after verified testimonies from moon sighters across the Kingdom on the evening of Sha’ban 29.

Saudi Arabia continues to rely on the traditional method of visually sighting the hilal (crescent moon) after sunset to determine the start of Islamic lunar months.
