The multiple award-winning star, through his announcement on October 14, announced his plan to host the Nigerian leg of his 5alive tour, noting how he has been performing across several countries in the world, and now he is set to bring his tour home, sharing that he was going to tour 5 cities in Nigeria.

Why Nigeria?

Davido’s announcement of his already kick-started 5alive Nigerian tour, surprised many, although not his fans who welcomed his decision with open hands. Looking at the singer’s background as the son of Adedeji Adeleke, the CEO of Pacific Holdings; many would wonder why the singer, despite his comfortable background, would choose to tour Nigeria out of several other countries in the world.

Interestingly, it appears that the singer’s decision wasn’t something that was just decided this year, as in the words of his manager, Asa Asika, “I’ve toured the world and been to over 20 states across Nigeria. The energy and demand are here, even if the infrastructure is far from perfect.

‎David and I spoke about this in 2017, and this year I was determined to pull it off and reconnect with the fans that made us who we are today.”

Asa Asika ‘s revelation explains how much intentionality, love, and respect the Afrobeats star has for Nigerians, despite not being born in the country.

The Long-term Impact

Davido has already kick-started his Nigerian tour with electrifying performances in 3 states including, Akwa Ibom (Uyo) on October 26, 2025, Adamawa (Yola) on October 29, 2025, and Enugu on November 1, 2025. Videos of the tour shows Nigerians pulling up en masse, channeling their energy into the performance of the singer, who in turn dishes out exceptional songs to charge the crowd more, not forgetting the performance of other singers including, Nasboi, Odumodublvck, Victory, among others.

The singer clearly understands the Nigerian clime, and as such, made sure that the tickets for the shows were pegged at a not-so-expensive price, in addition to the fact that some fans also got their tickets from sponsors like Wema and co, who ensured to push their brand to more Nigerians in the process.

Despite his loud lifestyle, the Afrobeats star is clearly intelligent, as his decision to host the Nigerian tour is an area of tour that many Nigerian musicians have not tapped into, and with the singer paving the way, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more musicians go that way in the coming years.

The singer’s manager also confirms that there is no place like home, and if the Afrobeats genre is to be sustained, touring at home would be a brilliant idea. He also revealed that he and the 30BG crew are building a model for how touring should look like in Nigeria.

“Afrobeats has gone global, but sustainable touring starts at home. We’re building a real model for what touring across Nigeria should look like city by city, venue by venue,” he emphasized.
