Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has declared her willingness to collaborate with any political party dedicated to building a better future for Nigeria, following a controversial promotional video for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The controversy began after FAAN shared a video on the social media platform X, in which Ojo praised recent improvements at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The actress also shared the clip, writing, “FAAN is changing for the better in so many ways. I’m so proud of my country.”

The video triggered a wave of mixed reactions online. Many social media users pointed to Ojo’s previous political stance, reminding the public and the federal government of her past criticisms of the Tinubu administration and her vocal support for Peter Obi during the 2023 general election.
In response to the online speculation, FAAN’s Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, clarified the situation. Kuku denied claims that Ojo had been awarded a contract or appointed as an ambassador for the authority.

Addressing the backlash, an unapologetic Iyabo Ojo explained that she created the video out of goodwill to promote her country and was not paid for it. She emphasized her readiness to work with any political party committed to national progress.
In a statement on her Instagram page, Ojo wrote: “I’m Nigerian. And I’m a voice. When I see progress, airports upgraded, roads rebuilt, systems improved etc, I shout it from the rooftops if need be, not because I am being paid, not because I am political, but because I feel it and I want good for my country. I will continue to use my craft, my voice, to promote Nigeria, and I am unapologetic about it.”

She further explained her collaboration with FAAN, stating, “FAAN approached me that you have seen the changes. Please help us spread the word. So I did it for free. No contract. Just love for Nigeria. If Nigeria must rise we ALL must build it. Silence helps no one. I will work with any political party as long as it is building a better tomorrow for our dear nation. No agenda. Just hands joined. Let’s stop dividing.”
This incident occurs as Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, continues to appoint various celebrities and influencers to lead support groups for his father’s potential re-election campaign.
It was also noted that Ojo, a known supporter of Peter Obi, released the promotional video several months after a private meeting with Seyi Tinubu in Lagos.
