The lawsuit claims that Dikeh violated the rights of a minor during a described “harmful religious deliverance ritual.”

The suit, filed under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009, seeks various declarations and orders, including ₦200 million in damages for the alleged infringement on the child’s rights to dignity and privacy.

The minor, a Junior Secondary School 1 student from Rivers State studying in Abuja, is being represented by Obasi.

The affidavit states that the incident took place on March 6, 2026, after the lawyer discovered viral images and a video on Dikeh’s official Facebook page. In the footage, it is claimed that the actress conducted a religious exorcism on the schoolgirl, who was reportedly laid on bare ground and pressed against a hard surface.

Obasi contends that the act subjected the child to degrading treatment, public humiliation, and possible psychological trauma. He also argues that the online dissemination of the images and video breached the child’s right to privacy as outlined in the 1999 Constitution and the Child Rights Act 2003, which could lead to ridicule and discrimination.

Moreover, Obasi is seeking ₦200 million in damages, referencing the stigma the minor has endured since the event. Currently, the High Court has not scheduled a hearing for the case.
