The Lagos State Government has announced temporary traffic diversions affecting the Stadium and Ojuelegba flyovers to allow for the installation of truck barriers.
In a statement issued on Friday, Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi confirmed that the diversions will impact both inbound and outbound traffic on the two key bridges.

Osiyemi detailed the alternative routes and urged motorists to comply with the new directives. He explained that the installation work is scheduled for overnight hours to minimize disruption to commuters.

According to the plan, drivers heading from Eko Bridge, Costain, and Iponri towards Ojuelegba and Alhaji Masha Road will be rerouted. They will need to use the service lane from Alaka, proceed past the National Stadium gate, and then connect to the Barracks area or continue on to Alhaji Masha Road.

An alternative route has also been provided for motorists coming from Eko Bridge via Costain and those from Apapa Road via Iponri. These drivers are advised to divert through Iponri Estate Road, linking to Bode Thomas via Adeniran Ogunsanya and Shitta Roundabout to complete their journeys.
The commissioner appealed for patience and cooperation from the public, emphasizing that the installation of the truck barriers is a crucial part of the state’s ongoing efforts to improve traffic management and safety on its roads.
