Kaduna Church Attack: 31 hostages rescued; 5 fatalities during swift military response

Nigerian Army troops successfully averted a terrorist assault in Ariko Village in Kaduna State’s Kachia Local Government Area, rescuing 31 individuals who had been kidnapped during an Easter church service.

According to Kaduna Political affairs’ report, The attack occurred at an ECWA Church amid Easter festivities, leading to an urgent military response following a distress call.

Acting promptly and with assistance from local residents, the troops engaged the assailants in a firefight, which compelled them to release the hostages.

One of the rescued individuals sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. Tragically, five people died in the incident, and their bodies were recovered at the site.

Reports suggest that the fleeing attackers may have incurred significant injuries, as blood traces were found along their escape routes.
