The Students’ Union has announced the end of its 72-hour lecture boycott following what it described as the successful expiration of the action and ongoing negotiations with the University management.

In a statement, the Union said, ‘Following the successful expiration of the 72-hour lecture boycott earlier announced and in view of the ongoing line of communication and constructive negotiations with the University management, the Students’ Union hereby announces the end of the boycott.’

It added that ‘all academic activities are to resume normally with immediate effect from Friday, 17th April 2026.’

The Union expressed appreciation to students, stating that ‘the leadership of the Students’ Union expresses profound appreciation to the entire student body for their unwavering compliance, resilience, and steadfastness throughout the 72-hour period.’
It further noted that ‘details as to the outcome of the negotiations, when concluded, will be provided to the general students’ body and will also be presented at the next Congress’.
Reaffirming its position, the Union said, ‘we assure the University community that the Union remains committed to the demands earlier outlined and will continue to engage the management in good faith until all issues bordering on the new transportation system are satisfactorily resolved.’
Students were urged to remain united and law-abiding, as ‘we urge all students to remain vigilant, united, and law-abiding as we sustain this positive momentum.’
