The Headquarters Joint Task Force for North East, under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has raised concerns regarding the potential for terrorist attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP during the upcoming Eid-El-Kabir celebrations in the North-East region.
In a statement released on Monday, May 24, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the spokesperson for the operation, mentioned that intelligence indicates that insurgents might target busy civilian areas during the festive season.

He stated, βReliable intelligence received by the Command points to the likelihood of isolated attempts by remaining Boko Haram terrorists and ISWAP members to take advantage of the holiday period to conduct attacks on civilian locations using suicide bombers and IEDs, particularly in densely populated areas.β
