Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on the Lagos State Government to immediately ban commercial motorcyclists, commonly known as Okada riders, due to increasing security threats.
During a church event captured in a video shared online, he asserted that terrorists are surveilling Lagos and could potentially use Okada riders to execute attacks unless prompt action is taken.

Primate Ayodele stated, “This is a security alert for the Lagos State government: enact a ban on Okada in all areas. Failure to do so will endanger Lagos State.
He further urged the government to prohibit wheelbarrow pushers and beggars to prevent potential attacks, warning that neglecting these issues could lead to chaos in Nigeria.
He recommended that authorities apprehend individuals impersonating the mentally ill and emphasized the need for a task force to enforce the Okada ban.

He suggested imposing a 30-year prison sentence on anyone caught riding an Okada, with exceptions only for official delivery riders, as a strategy to reduce insecurity.
He also urged the government to take action against street beggars and cart pushers, warning that failing to do so could lead to turmoil in Lagos State.
According to him, while terrorists are currently inactive in Lagos, they may become more active in Ogun State. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, asserting that banning Okada is crucial for public safety, as such riders could be used for criminal activities.
