Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Hon. Olowa described the establishment of the Board as a significant milestone in his administration’s commitment to educational development and youth empowerment.

According to the Chairman, the local government has consistently invested in the academic growth of students through various scholarship and bursary programmes, supporting beneficiaries in institutions such as Pan-Atlantic University and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

He noted that while the existing interventions have recorded notable successes, there was a need for a dedicated structure that would provide the legal and administrative backing necessary to coordinate and sustain the programmes effectively.

“Education remains one of the most powerful tools for social and economic transformation. Every deserving student should have the opportunity to pursue academic excellence regardless of financial challenges,” Olowa stated.

The Chairman charged members of the newly inaugurated Board to carry out their duties with integrity, transparency, fairness, and a strong commitment to public service.
