IGP introduces operation “Kosaye” to eliminate kidnappers from Lagos, and other states

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has launched “Operation Kosaye” (No Chance) in Lagos and Ogun States to enhance efforts in eliminating kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes in the region.

This initiative, backed by the Lagos and Ogun State Governments with logistical support, focuses on clearing out forests, border communities, criminal hideouts, and other areas known to be used by kidnappers and criminals.

At a press conference held at the Ogun State Police Training School in Iperu, Police Commissioners Bode Ojajuni and Tijani Fatai reported that the operation has already seen significant success, including the rescue of five kidnapping victims from the Ijebu Ode Sagamu Benin expressway on June 25, the neutralization of five kidnappers, and the arrest of four additional suspects.

The Police Commissioners indicated that all identified forests and bushes in Lagos and Ogun States, along with areas bordering Ondo and Oyo States, have been thoroughly searched and cleared of kidnappers and bandits.
