Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, has accused certain individuals of plotting to prevent him from running in the 2027 presidential election, asserting that their attempts will ultimately be unsuccessful.
Addressing an audience at Madonna University in Okija, Anambra State, Obi acknowledged the political challenges he’s faced but expressed unwavering determination to achieve his goal of leading Nigeria.

He stated that efforts are underway to obstruct his appearance on the 2027 ballot, but he is confident these efforts will not prevail.
“If I were to share everything I’m encountering, I wouldn’t be here. Currently, various measures are in place to ensure I won’t be on the ballot next year.
“However, I assure you that they will not succeed. We are resolute because overcoming challenges is essential for those who aspire to effect change in society. Obstacles are what empower leaders.

Moreover, he emphasized that his presidential campaign is driven by ability rather than tribal affiliation.
“I am running for president not because I am Igbo, but because I possess the necessary qualifications. Among all who are vying for the presidency, I am the most qualified,” Obi declared.
He additionally invited other presidential contenders, including incumbent President Bola Tinubu, to engage in a public debate regarding their vision for Nigeria.
“I challenge any of them to participate in a debate to present their plans for the country, including the current president. My aim is to transform Nigeria,” he stated.
