Act immediately against bandits, Defence Minister warns troops

Defence Minister General Christopher Musa has instructed security forces to promptly engage and eliminate bandits and terrorists upon deployment, cautioning that any member who hesitates for approval will be viewed as an accomplice.

This directive was given on Wednesday in Sokoto State during the launch of 62 operational vehicles and additional security gear valued at N27.1 billion, funded by the Sokoto State Government to enhance local security measures.

Musa emphasized to the troops, “Once deployed, do not wait for permission from anyone to shoot or neutralize any bandit or terrorist. I want to make this abundantly clear; anyone who refuses to act while waiting for orders will be treated as a bandit themselves.”

He also called on the security personnel to take good care of the new equipment, highlighting the significant financial investment made by the state government.
