The Nigerian Air Force has transported the first group of Nigerian soldiers to the ECOWAS Stabilisation Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau, initiating Nigeria’s contribution of troops under NIGCOY 5.
The contingent, consisting of 12 officers and 74 soldiers, departed from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on a NAF C-130 aircraft. Additional troops are scheduled to be deployed through subsequent airlifts.
