“Recently, the First Lady, as our nation’s mother, provided assistance to akara sellers, and I was taken aback by some of the reactions. As the Defence Minister today, I remember my mother’s work selling akamu, which helped support me to reach my current position. I take great pride in her role in our family through her akara and akamu sales. Do not let anyone make you think that selling these items is something to be ashamed of,” he stated.

Musa emphasized that his mother’s determination and commitment to supporting their family through small-scale trading significantly influenced his path to becoming Nigeria’s Minister of Defence.

He encouraged attendees to embrace entrepreneurship, emphasizing that no legitimate business is too small to create opportunities and change lives.
