Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.

His death was announced by his daughter, Kira Taiwo, during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The development comes days after the actor’s family publicly revealed his deteriorating health and appealed for urgent medical assistance.
Ogogo’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, had earlier taken to social media to seek help for their father after revealing that he had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer.
In emotional appeals shared online, the family called on medical professionals, hospitals and other specialists who could assist with his treatment. Kira had also disclosed that doctors had informed the family that chemotherapy could no longer be administered because of the advanced stage of the illness.
