The role focuses on driving sales growth, expanding market coverage, managing distributors and leading field sales teams to deliver territory targets.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute area sales plans aligned with company objectives and targets.
- Drive sales volume, value, distribution and market share across the assigned territory.
- Monitor performance trends and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Improve territory coverage, route-to-market efficiency and outlet expansion.
- Manage trade promotions, pricing compliance and product availability.
- Build and maintain strong distributor relationships.
- Monitor distributor KPIs including sales growth, stock rotation, credit management and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely order processing and stock replenishment.
- Identify and develop new distributors and sub-distributors.
- Lead, coach and motivate Sales Supervisors and Sales Representatives.
- Conduct field coaching, joint calls and performance reviews.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing and market trends.
- Support new product launches and market penetration.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and ethical standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Track territory performance using approved reporting tools and dashboards.
- Manage area budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of total sales experience.
- At least 4 years of FMCG experience with a reputable organisation.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an Area Sales Manager.
- Strong experience progressing from Salesman or Sales Representative into sales leadership roles.
- Strong leadership, people management and coaching skills.
- Excellent knowledge of FMCG route-to-market operations.
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong negotiation and distributor management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability and result orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and sales reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
