Lagos leads investment drive as Sanwo-Olu unveils strategic partnerships, deal book at Invest Nigeria 4.0

Lagos State has outlined fresh investment opportunities and strategic partnerships aimed at positioning the state as Africa’s premier investment destination at the fourth edition of the LCCI Invest Nigeria Conference and Expo.

Representing Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Hon. Folashade Bada Ambrose-Medebem, said Lagos was focused not only on attracting capital but also on building institutional structures that would enable private investment to contribute meaningfully to economic development.

She described Lagos as a market, gateway and ecosystem for manufacturers, talent, technology and entrepreneurship, urging businesses to take advantage of opportunities linked to the state’s hosting of CANEX 2026 and IATF 2027.

The commissioner highlighted the importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), noting that the Lagos State Office of Public-Private Partnerships signed a two-year cooperation agreement with the Hong Kong Institution of Public-Private Partnerships in January 2026.

She added that Lagos signed four PPP concession agreements in July covering healthcare, transportation, digital governance and public asset management.

Ambrose-Medebem also highlighted the Lagos Investment Deal Book, unveiled at the 2025 Lagos Investment Summit 2.0, as a portfolio of bankable projects spanning transportation, healthcare, sustainable energy, innovation, technology and the green economy.

She challenged participants to measure the conference by tangible outcomes, including partnerships formed, projects financed, regulatory bottlenecks removed and jobs created.

In his opening address, LCCI President, Engr. Leye Kupoluyi, called for stronger frameworks to maximise investment returns and urged Nigeria to present its investment opportunities directly to international investors.

Delivering keynote remarks on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business.

The two-day conference, convened by LCCI, continues to provide a platform for investors, government and businesses to develop concrete partnerships and unlock Nigeria’s investment potential.
