Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, has led Permanent Secretaries and other public servants in the “Turn Alausa Purple” campaign to raise awareness against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
The campaign, held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Main Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, marked the commencement of the 2026 Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month.

Agoro was joined by the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LDSVA), Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, and other members of the campaign team.
With the theme “SGBV, It Ends With Us,” the campaign seeks to sensitise public servants on sexual harassment, domestic violence and other forms of abuse, while encouraging timely reporting and access to support services.
Speaking during the campaign, Agoro reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Public Service to maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.

He urged public servants to speak up against abuse and harassment, stressing that silence could enable perpetrators to continue their actions.
The campaign also featured a colourful parade and funfair, with public servants participating in awareness activities and expressing solidarity with efforts to end domestic and sexual violence across the state.
The initiative is expected to strengthen awareness, promote victim protection and encourage collective action against SGBV in workplaces and communities.
The Lagos State Government has continued to emphasise the importance of public awareness, reporting mechanisms and accountability in tackling domestic and sexual violence.
