In a video that surfaced on Sunday, Elliot was seen kneeling and prostrating before Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, during a meeting with party leaders. The lawmaker expressed deep regret for his past actions and sought to mend his relationship with the APC leadership in Lagos.

The video, shared by Lagos Junction on X, captured Elliot admitting he may have been “misguided” during the primary. He also reaffirmed his allegiance to the party’s leadership.

This is not the first time Elliot, who represents Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has apologized to his political mentor. During a previous appearance on TVC’s “Your View,” he acknowledged that any misunderstanding between them was unintentional and stressed his commitment to party unity.
“I’m not saying, ‘Oh, yes, media will come out, oh yes, Desmond begs again.’ Yes, because he’s my egbon [elder brother]. And I grew up learning everything I knew in politics through him,” he explained. “To err is human, to forgive is divine. So I’m sorry, my daddy, if I’ve offended you in any way.”

The apology stems from political tensions related to a leadership crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly. Gbajabiamila had previously revealed that he faced scrutiny from President Bola Tinubu due to intelligence reports linking Elliot to the speakership dispute, an allegation he denied.
The internal party conflict, which centered on leadership disagreements within the APC, was eventually settled after interventions from senior party figures.
