Tosin Adarabioye

Though he has spent most of his life in England, where he graduated from Manchester City’s famed academy, Tosin’s recent visit to Nigeria showed that he holds his Nigerian identity close and is now taking steps to learn more about it.

During his time in Nigeria, Adarabioyo also paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House.

The symbolic meeting, which underscores Tosin’s Lagos roots, was seen by many as a bridging of two worlds, that of global football and local pride.

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the defender on his achievements and encouraged him to be a role model to aspiring athletes across the state.

From Manchester to Stamford Bridge

Tosin Adarabioyo rose through the ranks at Manchester City, making his senior debut under Pep Guardiola before moving to Fulham, where he established himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent defenders.

In 2024, he made a high-profile move to Chelsea FC, a club that has seen a growing Nigerian fanbase over the years. His performances in West London have continued to earn praise, particularly for his composure, aerial strength, and leadership at the back.

Despite playing for England at youth level, many Nigerian fans still hope that Tosin will one day wear the green and white of the Super Eagles.
