Lagos govt seals off popular plaza for dumping toxic wastewater into public drains

The Lagos State government has closed off Divine Grace Plaza, situated at 36 Ajiran-Agungi Road in Eti-Osa, due to its illegal dumping of untreated wastewater into public drains.

This enforcement action occurred on Friday, October 10, 2025, guided by Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources. Officials condemned the plaza’s actions, highlighting the serious environmental risks they pose, including significant pollution and threats to public health and safety.
