PDP suspends four prominent officials, after court order against convention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four prominent national officials in response to a court ruling that halted the party’s upcoming national convention. The individuals suspended include National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary Umaru Bature.

The suspension, effective for one month, was announced by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, following an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) on Saturday at the party’s Legacy House in Abuja.

Ologunagba stated that the decision was made in line with the PDP Constitution, and the suspended officials have been forwarded to the party’s Disciplinary Committee for further proceedings. This action came just a day after a Federal High Court in Abuja issued an order preventing the PDP from conducting its 2025 National Convention, causing further internal strife for the opposition party.
