Queens Cup Kicks Off in Style as Remo Stars edge Robo Queens, Dannaz Triumph Over Nakamura on Day One

The Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tourney Match Day One recorded thrilling fascinating score line as nine goals were scored.

Wazbak Queens, DreamStar Ladies, Dannaz Ladies and Remo Stars Ladies held their ground to grind out opening day wins in the competition.

Wazbak Queens 2-1 Phoenix Queens

Temilade Adepoju scored the first goal of the competition to give Phoenix Queens the lead which sealed her name in the history books of the tourney.

Lydia Ojo fought back to put Wazbak Queens on level terms in the 81st minute while she got her brace in the 88th minute to give her side a dramatic comeback win. Wazbak Queens will square up against Robo Queens in their next game, while Phoenix Queens face Remo Stars Ladies on Tuesday.

Pacesetter Queens 0-1 DreamStar Ladies

DreamStar Ladies stunned NWFL Premiership side, Pacesetter Queens to clinch their first win of the tournament.

Khadijat Anifowoshe’s 15th-minute strike was enough to seal a three-point win against Pacesetter Queens who showed glimpses of brilliance in the encounter.

Dannaz Ladies 2-0 Nakamura FA

Goals from Augusta Chukwuma and Zainab Raji cemented a two-goal win against Nakamura FA.

Both sides played a barren draw in the first half. Chukwuma gave the Cedars the lead in the 80th minute while Zainab cemented the win with an 83rd minute strike.

Nakamura FA will battle Pacesetter Queens in their next game, while Dannaz Ladies will compete against DreamStar Ladies.

Remo Stars Ladies 2-1 Robo Queens

Remo Stars Ladies came from a goal down to defeat Robo Queens 2-1 in the heavyweight clash of the Queens Cup Southwest Preseason Tourney.

Emmanuel Faith’s 11th-minute goal saw Robo Queens take the lead. Daniella Fagbenro’s stunning header in the 50th minute gave Remo Stars Ladies a lifeline.

A painful own goal from Rodiat Yusuf late in the match gave Remo Stars Ladies the win.
